Qualification -
Unit of Competency FWPHAR4205 - Implement harvesting plans
Description
Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to implement forest or farm forest harvesting plans for established coupes to maximise output and cost efficiencies. The unit applies to job roles including Harvesting Supervisor, Harvesting Team Leader, Forestry Supervisor, Forestry Operations Supervisor, Arboriculture Supervisor, Farm Forestry Supervisor, Propagation and Stand Health Supervisor and Tree Farm Supervisor.Licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit in some states & territories at the time of publication, and may differ according to jurisdiction.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

The following resources must be made available:

computers and software programs used for documenting harvest work plans

information on planning permits and application forms

harvest plan with specific details for the coupe

template harvest work plans

organisational standards, policies and procedures for harvest operations

Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting.

Assessor requirements

Assessors must:

hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and

be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and

be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence.
