Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to estimate resource requirements for the manufacture of products for a customer.The unit applies to timber manufactured products’ technician and customer service operators who calculate costs including labor, materials and time requirements and provide quotations to customers for an individual customer job.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: computers, keyboards and printers industry current software programs used to prepare and provide quotations customer briefs on which to quote, including product requirements and special requests product and other organisational information, either electronic or hard copy: in-house price lists, product description sheets or manuals costs for materials and labor to manufacture and install schedule of overhead costs delivery types and costs schedule of fees template: customer files quotations organisational procedures for: applying mark-ups charging fees preparing and presenting quotations documenting calculations, communicating quotations to customers and maintaining records relevant personnel for the purposes of communicating information current plain English regulatory documents distributed by government regulators for consumer protection law. Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence. |
