Description This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use tools, equipment, software and protocols to install or upgrade call processing network elements for secure and reliable internet protocol (IP)-based communications networks.

Learning Outcomes and Application This unit applies to the use of voice management servers to support single site and centralised call processing models. Relevant job roles include advanced voice over internet protocol (VoIP) network support specialist, VoIP network engineer and VoIP systems installer.

Assessment processes and techniques must be culturally appropriate, and suitable to the communication skill level, language, literacy and numeracy capacity of the candidate and the work being performed.
