Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to design, conduct and evaluate effective vendor training programs for users and operators of telecommunications equipment. This includes digital or analog communications applications, including telephony, data, video, digital broadcasting, local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN) and multimedia. These may be domestic, commercial or industrial installations.It applies to individuals involved with customer support activities for the purpose of training technical support or maintenance staff.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Gather evidence to demonstrate consistent performance in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the Telecommunications – Education field of work and include access to:

applicable industry software packages.

Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational education and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.

describe equipment relative to customer requirements, customer telecommunications applications and related equipment

describe features and applications of telecommunications products relative to customer requirements

identify and outline common training methodologies for vendor training

identify, locate and evaluate reference documents relevant to training and after training support.
