Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to identify opportunities for using new technology to support and enable efficient models of business.It applies to individuals who work as senior information and communications technology (ICT) staff in a range of areas and who are required to research innovative approaches to meeting business requirements.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Gather evidence to demonstrate consistent performance in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the general information and communications technology (ICT) industry, and include access to:

business systems

analysis software

modelling software

business requirements

current industry news, forums, lists and chat rooms

user analysis

supply and value chain analysis.

Assessors must satisfy NVR/AQTF assessor requirements.

Evidence of the ability to:

determine the appropriate focus of the selected business model in order to achieve the desired performance improvement

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

discuss business process design and include:

case diagrams

business process model and notation

activity diagrams

discuss business-to-business and business-to-customer interface and liaison

identify relevant copyright and intellectual property issues

discuss the current technical environment

outline methods for the determination of the impact of technological change

summarise the principles of an electronic commerce modelling language (ECML)

interpret environmental scanning

interpret design specifications

outline modelling methodology

discuss value and supply chain management

outline website architecture.
