Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to create strategic and action plans in alignment with organisational information and communications technology (ICT) goals and strategies.It applies to individuals who work as senior ICT staff and who are required to develop strategies and action plans for implementation.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Gather evidence to demonstrate consistent performance in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the general ICT industry, and include access to:

the organisation’s strategic plan

budget and time constraints

business objectives

business risks

information on a range of ICT business solutions

outcomes of the business analysis process.

Assessors must satisfy NVR/AQTF assessor requirements.

Evidence of the ability to:

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

discuss analysis and planning approaches to technical problems and management requirements relating to network ICT security guidelines of the organisation

explain how to conduct a SWOT analysis

outline the organisation’s approach to:

developing action plans

monitoring strategic directions

setting objectives and targets

selecting hardware platform

outline technology and product directions

discuss evaluation methods used when forecasting for planning:

current system functionality, particularly with regard to ICT trends and developments

internal and external operating environments

operating systems supported by the organisation.
