Description | This unit covers the development, engagement and leadership of communities by council officers and elected members. It addresses the skills involved in the strategic development of community directions and programs and the ongoing involvement of residents, businesses and other stakeholders in the work of council. It is appropriate for elected members, CEOs and other senior managers of councils.No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||

Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit supports the attainment of skills and knowledge required for competent workplace performance in councils of all sizes. Knowledge of the legislation and regulations that provide the boundaries for the operation of councils is essential.
