Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills required to interpret complex financial policies and procedures and provision of advice on complex financial issues. It includes intimate, high-level knowledge of the public sector financial management compliance framework, external requirements, industry and accounting standards and the application of these to work in a specialist finance role in the public sector. It includes interpreting and applying complex public sector financial requirements, establishing and applying internal financial controls, and formulating/maintaining financial policy.This unit applies to those working in the public sector in specialist financial roles.The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.Those undertaking this unit would work autonomously, supervising others where necessary, performing complex tasks in a familiar context.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.
