Description | This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to prepare track and facilities for race meetings as required by the relevant racing code. The unit includes preparing track and other race club facilities, equipment, machinery and infrastructure for a race meeting, monitoring track condition and operations during the meeting, overseeing the post-race clean-up, and scheduling required repairs and maintenance work. It requires the ability to maintain and monitor the organisation's policies, including workplace OHS standards relating to contractors, race club staff and others authorised to undertake work on racecourses. It also requires effective verbal and written communication skills to ensure adequate supervision of staff, and completion of related tasks and documentation.This unit of competency operates in workplace environments of racing administration, kennels, stables, racecourses and public areas.Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements may apply to this unit. Check with your State Principal Racing Authority for current license or registration requirements. | ||
