Evidence of the following is essential:

preparation and presention to range of target audiences using appropriate presentation strategies, techniques and aids that enhance target audience's understanding of key concepts and ideas

liaising with the community on multiple occasions to ensure consistency of performance and ability to respond to different situations.

Context of and specific resources for assessment

Assessment must ensure:

presentation of information within a commercially realistic delivery environment, such as in a meeting room or in a conference, school or community venue

use of industry current equipment and support aids for presentation, which will vary according to the operational context of delivering the presentation, e.g. a microphone will be essential equipment for a large venue

presentation to and interaction with a group of a size and nature that would be expected for the relevant topic or context.

Methods of assessment

A range of assessment methods should be used to assess practical skills and knowledge. The following examples are appropriate for this unit:

observation of candidate making presentations to range of target audiences

review of prepared presentations and materials for range of target audiences, and self-assessment reflections

written or verbal questioning to assess knowledge and understanding of relevant workplace policies and procedures in relation to community liaison activities

review of portfolios of evidence and third-party workplace reports of on-the-job performance by the candidate.

Employability skills embedded in this unit should be assessed holistically with other relevant units that make up the skill set or qualification and in the context of the job role.
