Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to style retail merchandise using visual merchandising aids. It requires the ability to plan, install and style a range of merchandising aids including mannequins, fixtures and props. This unit applies to visual merchandisers and stylists working in a diverse range of sectors and business contexts. They operate with independence, under limited supervision of others, and within established organisational policies and procedures. They may have responsibility for making a range of creative and operational decisions within the scope of their job role. No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. Skills must be demonstrated in a service industries environment. This can be: an industry workplace a simulated industry environment. Assessment must ensure access to: relevant documentation: organisational work, health and safety procedures relevant to the use of visual merchandising aids visual merchandising concept manufacturer's instructions for the assembly and installation of visual merchandising aids organisational policies and procedures relating to: mannequins safety storage visual merchandising aids: mannequins fixtures: wall free-standing props merchandise for use in styling visual merchandising aids equipment for assembling visual merchandising aids. Assessors must satisfy the Standards for Registered Training Organisations’ requirements for assessors, and: have worked in a job role for at least two years where they have applied the skills and knowledge within this unit of competency. |
