Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish and facilitate the effective functioning of a group of people participating in an activity. This unit applies to individuals who work autonomously in a range of roles and settings in the sport, fitness or recreation industries. This includes program staff working in after-school or holiday-care programs, those assisting with coaching activities, or undertaking a support role in fitness activities, indoor and outdoor recreation activities such as camps and other guided activities.These individuals undertake work according to relevant legislation and organisational policies and procedures.No licensing, legislative or certificate requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Skills must be demonstrated in:

a sport, fitness or recreation environment with access to participants. This can be a workplace or simulated environment.

Assessment activities that allow the individual to:

plan and facilitate effective group functioning for a diverse group of clients

apply effective conflict-resolution techniques.

Assessors must satisfy the Standards for Registered Training Organisations’ requirements for assessors.
