Description | UNIT DESCRIPTOR:This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to provide elementary first aid on board a vessel or at another maritime workplace, including the performance of immediate lifesaving first aid until qualified medical assistance is available; the recognition of the symptoms and signs of acute illness and/or injury and the taking of appropriate action; the correct management of wounds and bleeding, burns, and bone and muscle injuries; and the adaptation of first aid procedures for remote situations.The unit is consistent with competency requirements set for the St John Ambulance National Senior Level First Aid Certificate or Level 2 First Aid Certificate | ||
