Description | 1) Scope:1.1) DescriptorThis unit covers the compliance of environmental policies and procedures whilst undertaking tasks in a utilities industry workplace.It encompasses the requirements for compliance with relevant sections of Commonwealth and State Environmental Protection, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Acts and Regulations, and their application to relevant work site procedures. | ||
Employability Skills | 5) The required outcomes described in this unit of competency contain applicable facets of Employability Skills. The Employability Skills Summary of the qualification in which this unit of competency is packaged will assist in identifying Employability Skill requirements. | ||
Learning Outcomes and Application | 2)This competency standard shall apply to any safe work site where utility industry operations occur which includes the gas industry, electricity supply industry (transmission and distribution and generation), the electrotechnology industry and the water industry, subject to all Environmental Legislative requirements, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Duty of Care requirements being met for the environment and the workplace.This unit is intended as an entry level AQF 3 competency for new entrants in the utilities industry. It is suitable for pre-employment and employment-based programs under an approved contract of training | ||
