1. Plan and prepare

1.1 Work order, job instructions and quality requirements are located and confirmed with appropriate personnel

1.2 Tools and equipment required for the job are identified, selected and checked for faults and correct operation

1.3 Materials required to complete the job are identified and prepared

1.4 Repair plan is prepared and confirmed with appropriate personnel

2. Assess fault

2.1 Vehicle components are inspected for fault against job specifications and workplace quality standards

2.2 Fault or defects are assessed and cause identified

3. Repair fault

3.1 Repair activities are carried out according to workplace procedures

3.2 Appropriate tools are used to repair fault or defects

3.3 Faulty or defective areas are repaired to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications and workplace quality standards

3.4 Repaired components are inspected for compliance against OEM specifications and returned to the production sequence

4. Complete work processes

4.1 Work area is cleaned, and materials disposed of, reused or recycled according to workplace procedures and cost-reduction initiatives

4.2 Tools and equipment are cleaned, checked, maintained and stored according to workplace procedures

4.3 Faulty tools and equipment are identified, tagged and reported

4.4 Repair work sheet is completed according to workplace procedures
