Performance Criteria

Elements describe the essential outcomes

Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. Where bold italicised text is used, further information is detailed in the range of conditions section

1. Plan test

1.1 Workplace procedures to test plant, tools, equipment, product or systems are identified and verified

1.2 Test instructions and workplace checklists are interpreted to identify processes and materials

1.3 Test equipment and plant tools are obtained according to work plans and workplace procedures

1.4 Test equipment and tools are prepared and calibrated according to standards, operating instructions and workplace procedures

2. Conduct test

2.1 Components to be tested are prepared and connected to test equipment

2.2 Components are tested or cycled through test procedures according to test specifications

2.3 Evidence of wear, malfunction or out-of-tolerance adjustment is reported and necessary action is taken

3. Interpret test results

3.1 Test results are interpreted to identify possible causes of malfunction or unserviceability

3.2 Further tests are conducted where required to determine causes of faults, malfunction or unserviceability

4. Initiate corrective action

4.1 Corrective action is implemented according to workplace procedures

4.2 Recommendations and corrective actions are documented according to procedures

5. Complete work processes

5.1 Test results are reported to appropriate personnel and workplace documentation is completed and stored according to workplace procedures

5.2 Work area and testing equipment are cleaned, inspected and stored according to workplace procedures

5.3 Faulty test equipment is identified, tagged and reported
