Apply and trim decorative additions to shopfittings and components

Application

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to apply and trim decorative panelling, frames, borders and mirrors to shopfittings and components according to specified designs. It covers setting out the position of decorative additions, fixing them into place, and trimming them to ensure a quality finish.

The unit supports shopfitters who may work off site on units being fabricated for installation, or on site on installed units and internal walls, working concurrently with other shopfitting work. Work must be scheduled to accommodate both client requirements, where the shop is operational, and the requirements of other shopfitters and associated contractors.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit of competency at the time of endorsement.
