1. Load and unload chaff firing system

1.1 Task requirements are received and confirmed with supervisor.

1.2 Work health and safety (WHS) requirements and recognised safety precautions are applied throughout the operation in accordance with standard procedures.

1.3 Appropriate personal protective equipment is selected and worn in accordance with WHS requirements.

1.4 Communication is maintained with team members throughout chaff firing operations.

1.5 Pre firing checks are conducted in accordance with ship operating procedures and supervisor directions.

1.6 Ammunition is identified and selected, and safely handled in accordance with standard procedures.

1.7 Chaff firing system is safely loaded and unloaded in accordance with ships operating procedures and supervisor directions.

1.8 Pre firing warnings are recognised and acted on in a timely manner.

1.9 Emergencies/incidents are responded to in accordance with emergency response plans.

2. Secure chaff firing system

2.1 Chaff firing system is checked for serviceability and safety in accordance with ship operating procedures and supervisor directions.

2.2 Faults or damage are reported in accordance with standard procedures.

2.3 Ammunition is cleaned, inspected, carried and secured in accordance with standard procedures.
