Application
This competency was developed for combat arms personnel required to install sensors as directed by the operational plan in order to detect targets and to provide information to a remote control facility in a deployed operational environment but is applicable to any individual in this field of work.
Typically, operators work as part of a team under direct and/or indirect supervision, use discretion and judgement, and take responsibility for the quality of their outputs. All activities are carried out in accordance with relevant organisational policies and procedures.

2. Prepare and maintain a location | 2.1 Designated position is occupied, reference points are established and information is documented. 2.2 Surveillance equipment is deployed in accordance with supervisor’s directions and standard procedures. 2.3 Optimal configuration is confirmed with supervisor. 2.4 Equipment is tested to ensure functionality and is confirmed with the control facility. 2.5 Site is camouflaged. 2.6 Communications are maintained with stakeholders. 2.7 Operational maintenance is conducted as required. |
