Application
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to use a compliance matrix to demonstrate that an organisation is operating within an established enterprise architecture framework. It includes measuring conformity with the framework, verifying compliance, and acting on compliance results. This unit applies to those working in an enterprise architecture practice for Defence but may be applicable to anyone in this field. The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to. Persons undertaking this unit work autonomously and perform sophisticated tasks in familiar contexts. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. |

Evidence of Performance
Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least two occasions and include: applying information management relating to enterprise architecture applying legislation, regulations, policies and procedures relating to enterprise architecture demonstrating compliance with enterprise architecture framework reporting on compliance requiring clear well-supported recommendations undertaking analysis in the context of enterprise architecture. |
Evidence of Knowledge
Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and include knowledge of: critical points and criteria for compliance equal employment opportunity, equity and diversity principles legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines relating to enterprise architecture, including work health and safety legislation principles of process auditing relevant business processes including: applications data information information technology infrastructure management security technology scope and structure of organisation’s enterprise architecture framework. |
Assessment Conditions
As a minimum, assessors must satisfy applicable regulatory requirements, which include requirements in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment. Assessment processes and techniques must be appropriate to the language, literacy and numeracy requirements of the work being performed and the needs of the candidate. Assessment must occur in workplace operational situations, where it is appropriate to do so; where this is not appropriate, assessment must occur in simulated workplace operational situations that replicate workplace conditions. Resources for assessment must include access to: a range of relevant exercises, case studies and workplace scenarios that capture the range of situations likely to be encountered when demonstrating compliance with an enterprise architecture framework relevant and appropriate legislation, policy, procedures and protocols relating to enterprise architecture currently used in industry capacity for extended observation of the compliance verification process applicable documentation including operational procedures, regulations, codes of practice and operation manuals. |
