1.2 Check coupe location including map and grid references.

1.3 Identify and apply for land use zoning and planning permits.

2. Plan coupe harvesting

2.1 Analyse forest type, available species and topography and document in line site procedures.

2.2 Calculate gross area of coupe and net area to be harvested.

2.3 Calculate and report volume estimates.

2.4 Plan operational activities including site preparation, environmental considerations and access.

2.5 Issue tenders and award harvesting and cartage contracts and establish cartage routes.

2.6 Develop, check and communicate schedule for harvesting.

3. Plan coupe regeneration

3.1 Select regeneration method best suited to the site conditions

3.2 Plan and instigate environmental protection measures for the landscape, soil and drainage.
