PUADEFCA001B
Observe and monitor hostile areas to detect targets

This unit covers the competency required to observe and/or listen for targets remote from the target acquisition assets and to provide information to stakeholders. This work will be undertaken as part of a team and under supervision, however it will also require the authority to act independently. This observation is normally conducted by at least two people; one person will be the observer and one will record the data. This Unit of Competency covers both roles.

Application

The application of this unit in the workplace - the environments, complexities and situations involved - will be written during Phase II of the Review of the PUA00 Public Safety Training Package.

This text will be useful for the purposes of job descriptions, recruitment advice or job analysis; where possible, it will not be too job specific to allow other industries to import it into other Training Packages, where feasible.
