This text will be useful for the purposes of job descriptions, recruitment advice or job analysis; where possible, it will not be too job specific to allow other industries to import it into other Training Packages, where feasible. | |

Detect target/s | 2.1 Target position is established via aural and visual observation, and bearing and distance are estimated 2.2 Type of weapon (if present) is identified and classified through visual or aural recognition, or by crater analysis 2.3 Enemy capability is estimated 2.4 Hostile action is monitored from prepared position 2.5 Communications with stakeholders is maintained so that relevant information can be provided |

Evidence Required
Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit | Assessment must confirm the ability to identify threat equipment using aural means; and to recognise the following through visual means: artillery mortars rocket launchers missile launchers vehicles tracked vehicles wheeled radar aircraft watercraft armoured vehicles. Consistency in performance Competency should be demonstrated over at least two different target locations from at least one observation site. |
