1. Plan and prepare to conduct crane operations underground

1.1 Access, interpret and apply crane operations documentation to ensure work activity is compliant

1.2 Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements

1.3 Select and wear personal protective equipment required for work activities

1.4 Identify hazards and environmental issues, assess the risks and implement control measures in line with workplace policies

1.5 Coordinate and communicate planned activities with others at the site prior to commencement of work activity

1.6 Check indicators and perform pre-start checks on equipment and attachments in line with workplace procedure

1.7 Carry out start-up checks in line with workplace procedures

1.8 Identify faults or defects and rectify or report within scope of own responsibility and according to workplace procedures

1.9 Scale loose material and make site safe

1.10 Use approved dust suppression and extraction methods in line with safe work practices

1.11 Check area is well ventilated before entry into work area

2. Lift and shift load in line with established requirements to complete work activity

2.1 Assess ground conditions, position equipment to ensure stability of crane and safety of other equipment and personnel

2.2 Determine rigging and slinging requirements after assessing site and load conditions in line with workplace requirements

2.3 Determine lifting technique according to the nature of the load being moved and the required location in line with workplace procedures

2.4 Operate equipment within work environment and equipment limitations, using safe driving conventions

2.5 Monitor and manage equipment performance using indicators and alarms

2.6 Park up, shut down, secure and carry out post operational inspection of equipment in line with workplace procedures

3. Conduct housekeeping activities

3.1 Clean equipment and work area and dispose or recycle materials according to workplace procedures

3.2 Clean and store ancillary service equipment

3.3 Manage and/or report hazards to maintain a safe working environment

3.4 Complete and file or distribute documentation
