Coordinate goods to bond premises


Application

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to coordinate goods to bond premises in accordance with regulatory and workplace requirements, as part of work activities in the transport and logistics industry.

It includes identifying and listing goods for bonding, arranging the transfer of goods to a bond store, and preparing and issuing bond lists.

Work is performed under some supervision generally within a team environment.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Identify and list cargo that requires bonded movement

Goods are identified for bonding when not cleared for release by Australian customs or quarantine

Arrange transfer of goods to bond store

Arrangements for the transfer of goods to bond store are made in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures

Carrier and/or bond facility is notified of storage or yard location, marks and quantity, and is provided with relevant documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures

Prepare and issue bonded movement

3.1

Bonded movements are prepared in accordance with workplace requirements and relevant Australian government regulations

3.2

Bonded movements, endorsed with the relevant information, is issued to carrier and/or bond facility in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures

Evidence of Performance

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and include:

applying relevant legislation and workplace procedures

communicating effectively with others

completing relevant documentation

reading, interpreting and following relevant instructions, procedures, information and signs

selecting and using relevant communications, computing and office equipment

working collaboratively with others

working systematically with required attention to detail without injury to self or others, or damage to goods or equipment.


Evidence of Knowledge

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and include knowledge of:

Australian and international codes and regulations relevant to coordinating goods to bond premises

operational work systems, equipment, management and site operating systems for coordinating goods to bond premises

workplace procedures and policies for coordinating goods to bond premises.


Assessment Conditions

As a minimum, assessors must satisfy applicable regulatory requirements, which include requirements in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must occur in workplace operational situations where it is appropriate to do so; where this is not appropriate, assessment must occur in simulated workplace operational situations that replicate workplace conditions.

Assessment processes and techniques must be appropriate to the language, literacy and numeracy requirements of the work being performed and the needs of the candidate.

Resources for assessment include:

a range of relevant exercises, case studies and/or simulations

applicable documentation including workplace procedures, regulations, codes of practice and operation manuals

relevant materials, tools, equipment and personal protective equipment currently used in industry.
