Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

AHCSAW403 - Supervise implementation of conservation earthworks plans

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Plan efficient implementation of erosion and sediment control works

  1. Review plans and specifications and relate to the work site
  2. Determine personnel and other resources required to undertake the work
  3. Plan and record work sequences to meet with proposed work schedule
  4. Identify the need for weed control and plan the use of chemicals
  5. Order materials to complete proposed works in line with construction schedule
  6. Identify potential regulatory planning and environmental impacts of the work and notify senior management
  7. Identify work health and safety hazards, assess risks and implement control measures
