Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

AHCWOL313 - Class alpaca fleece

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Prepare for classing of alpaca fleece

  1. Arrange equipment, facilities and layout of shed according to predetermined classing strategy for efficient fleece flow, quality management and pressing
  2. Select, use and maintain personal protective equipment and clothing
  3. Identify work health and safety hazards, assess risks and implement control measures
  4. Apply site quarantine/biosecurity protocols and follow hygiene requirements and monitor as required by owner or manager instructions
  5. Place bins and containers appropriately and ensure they are clearly labelled according to classing strategy and quality management system requirements
