The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?
Perform ground taxiing manoeuvres where applicable
Taxi clearance is obtained and compliance is maintained with clearance conditions and requirements, if applicable Completed |
Evidence:
Helicopter is manoeuvred on the ground over a prescribed track with due allowance for prevailing conditions Completed |
Evidence:
Speed is adjusted to suit helicopter type, surface conditions, congestion, maintenance of control and to avoid collision with obstacles or other aircraft Completed |
Evidence:
Turns in confined spaces are executed without incident Completed |
Evidence:
Adverse effects of rotor wash on personnel, aircraft, structures and trees are avoided Completed |
Evidence:
Compliance is maintained with workplace procedures, approved marshalling signals, and regulatory requirements throughout ground taxiing manoeuvres Completed |
Evidence:
Perform air taxiing manoeuvres
Taxi clearance is obtained and compliance is maintained with clearance conditions and requirements, if applicable Completed |
Evidence:
With allowance for prevailing conditions, the helicopter is manoeuvred above the ground over a prescribed track at constant height associated with ground effect and maintaining a ground speed that allows the safe transit of a helicopter Completed |
Evidence:
Helicopter is maintained within the taxiway limits Completed |
Evidence:
Turns in confined spaces are executed without incident Completed |
Evidence:
Speed is adjusted to suit helicopter type, surface conditions, congestion, maintenance of control and to avoid collision with obstacles or other aircraft Completed |
Evidence:
Adverse effects of rotor wash on personnel, aircraft, structures and trees are avoided Completed |
Evidence:
The use of ram air or carburettor heat during air taxiing manoeuvres is avoided in dusty conditions Completed |
Evidence:
Compliance is maintained with workplace procedures, approved marshalling signals, and regulatory requirements throughout air taxiing manoeuvres Completed |
Evidence:
Throughout taxiing manoeuvres, helicopter operation is kept outside of the 'avoid area' of the manufacturers height-velocity diagram where possible Completed |
Evidence:
Perform air transiting manoeuvres
Transit clearance is obtained and compliance is maintained with clearance conditions and requirements, if applicable Completed |
Evidence:
With allowance for prevailing conditions, the helicopter is manoeuvred at a height not above 100 feet over a prescribed track within the aerodrome boundaries that is clear of obstacles, and at air speeds greater than those used for air taxiing Completed |
Evidence:
Throughout air transit manoeuvres, due awareness is maintained of helicopter operation relative to the manufacturers height-velocity diagram, power required/power available margin, loss of tail rotor effectiveness, traffic movements at the aerodrome and air traffic control requirements Completed |
