Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

Communicate concepts or ideas through application of design processes to 2D forms

  1. Investigate and reflect on how a particular concept or idea might be communicated in 2D
  2. Select materials, tools and equipment relevant to the realisation of the concept or idea
  3. Apply a creative design process to produce a range of 2D concept realisations
  4. Reflect on own application of design process and success in communicating the concept or idea
  5. Seek and obtain feedback from others about the 2D form and its success in communicating the concept or idea
  6. Present and store concept realisations or samples in a format which takes account of the need for professional presentation and the work’s potential value for future jobs
