Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

Evidence of the ability to:

plan and produce technically proficient digital images

discuss the combination of ideas and techniques in own digital image work

evaluate own work progress for improvement in creative processes and products.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

describe historical and theoretical digital imaging practices relevant to the specific production of digital images

describe capabilities of a range of materials, tools and equipment used in digital imaging

outline the elements and principles of design and their application to the digital imaging

explain how common techniques used in producing digital images can be adapted to achieve creative effects

outline basic intellectual property considerations in producing creative works

describe procedures for working safely with digital imaging materials, tools and equipment.
