Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

CUAMPF202 - Incorporate music technology into performance

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Explore the potential of technology based equipment

  1. Discuss with appropriate people ways in which technology based equipment and related software can be used to enhance performance
  2. Use practice sessions to explore a range of features in technology based equipment, ensuring that product instructions and safety features are observed
  3. Test a range of ways in which sound can be produced to achieve performance goals consistently and reliably
  4. Seek feedback from appropriate people on own skill development, and set improvement goals

Evidence of the ability to:

care for, move, install and connect equipment safely and according to product instructions

practise producing sounds and sequences using technology based equipment

perform music using technology based equipment.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

describe ways in which music technology can be used to reproduce and perform sounds and sequences, and program music

describe features of music technology based equipment and related software, and how they can be used in performance

outline safety precautions as applicable to music technology used in own testing and performance.
