Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

CUAMUP401 - Design, apply and remove make-up

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Design make-up

  1. Confirm make-up requirements in consultation with relevant personnel and with reference to production documentation
  2. Generate a range of ideas for make-up designs that take colour design principles and lighting effects into account and provide creative solutions to production requirements
  3. Identify production factors that may affect design solutions
  4. Identify skin types, skin disorders, contra-indications or specific requirements of performers or talent that must be considered
  5. Prepare costings for make-up products and equipment and seek approval for expenditure as required
  6. Discuss design ideas with relevant personnel and document agreed make-up plans
  7. Check make-up products and equipment are available in time to meet production schedules
