Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

CUAPPM507 - Manage safety aspects of screen productions

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Develop safety plans

  1. Analyse and discuss findings and recommendations of draft pre-production safety reports with relevant personnel, and identify required priority actions, personnel and materials
  2. Distribute final version of pre-production safety reports and communicate key findings to relevant personnel and organisations before commencement of filming
  3. Identify specific safety personnel and skills sets required for screen production activity
  4. Sequence production activities for effectiveness and efficiency, based on safety report and production schedule requirements
  5. Recruit and roster specialist personnel and seek other specialist advice as required in line with pre-production safety reports
  6. Confirm relevant personnel prepare action plans for hazardous sequences that comply with required codes, guidelines and procedures
  7. Coordinate and participate in all location surveys to ensure production complies with recommended industry safety codes
  8. Document safety plans in line with organisational procedures, ensuring all recommendations from pre-production safety reports have been addressed
