Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

Evidence of the ability to:

communicate with relevant personnel during collection and organisation of content

gather and organise information on a variety of topics from reliable sources within given timeframes

establish an efficient system for maintaining information and information sources

monitor and review information sources and collection processes.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

outline typical challenges that arise collecting and organising content for broadcast and publication, and how to handle these

describe protocols to be observed when gathering culturally sensitive information

outline basic principles of law and codes of practice as they apply to research

briefly describe work health and safety standards as they relate to working for periods of time on computers.
