Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

CUAWHS602 - Develop techniques for maintaining resilience in a competitive environment

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Demonstrate understanding of behavioural principles

  1. In discussion with relevant personnel, confirm understanding of the key developmental stages in perception, cognition and understanding of self and how they relate to performers
  2. Clarify the difference between psychology and psychiatry and discuss the circumstances in which performers may need to consult with professionals from those disciplines
  3. Clarify the basic influences on social, individual and group behaviour with particular reference to competitive environments
  4. Ensure correct use of terminology associated with psychological research and behavioural theories

develop strategies to address performance issues in a manner that demonstrates understanding of:

behavioural principles

ways to cope with performance anxiety

implement, monitor and adjust strategies in response to self-evaluation
