The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?
Recognise a confined space
Select and don required personal protective equipment (PPE) to identify a confined space. Completed |
Evidence:
Review nature of the possible work space and its characteristics. Completed |
Evidence:
Assess possible work space for its potential to be a confined space. Completed |
Evidence:
Determine precautions to be taken in the presence of a harmful atmosphere. Completed |
Evidence:
Identify and assess other hazards and factors associated with the possible work space to determine the level of risk associated with that space. Completed |
Evidence:
Refer identified hazards to appropriate personnel/authority for further investigation and analysis, where uncertainty exists about confined space potential. Completed |
Evidence:
Confirm safety of possible work space. Completed |
Evidence:
Carry out appropriate action after identifying a confined space
Identify and document potential WHS issues. Completed |
Evidence:
Undertake, document and revise risk assessment, whenever there is evidence to indicate that it is no longer valid. Completed |
Evidence:
Document broad limitations the confined space may impose on work practices. Completed |
