Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

PPMREC210 - Monitor and control chemical recovery operations

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Monitor and control processes

  1. Check production requirements at the start of the shift, in accordance with productivity requirements, relevant workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures, risks and hazards identification and environmental workplace procedures.
  2. Confirm operational status of chemical recovery processes by inspection, observations and other information.
  3. Monitor and control supplies of chemicals and supply systems to ensure availability and suitability.
  4. Conduct sampling and testing.
  5. Monitor and control production and by-product storage.
  6. Monitor and control process variables to ensure efficient operation.
  7. Carry out operator level preventative maintenance schedules, if required.
  8. Monitor and control discharges.
