Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

PPMRES270 - Unload materials

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Conduct unloading processes

  1. Identify work requirements, in accordance with productivity requirements, relevant workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures, risks and hazards identification and environmental workplace procedures.
  2. Check, set up and prepare load shifting equipment for operation.
  3. Inspect load for movements and determine safest unloading sequence.
  4. Lift materialsand unload while maintaining load and equipment stability.
  5. Report damage to raw materials, equipment, or vehicle according to company procedures.
  6. Monitor load or vehicle lifting equipment performance for unsatisfactory or hazardous operation.
