Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

RIIBLA306D - Conduct accretion firing

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Plan and prepare for accretion firing

  1. Access, interpret and apply shot firing documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
  2. Receive, interpret and clarify accretion shooting details
  3. Confirm blast objective by preliminary site inspection
  4. Identify, document and manage potential hazards and risks
  5. Apply basic calculations for accretion shooting and validate the blast objective criteria
  6. Identify, confirm and collect required equipment
  7. Complete permits or other required documentation
  8. Select and wear Personal Protective Equipment appropriate for work activities
  9. Identify, address and report environmental issues
