Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

locates and applies applicable documentation, policies and procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and complete airless and atomized spraying operations that meets all of the required outcomes including:

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

using a range of communication techniques and systems such as signage to advise others of work activity and exclusion zone

demonstrates completion of conducting airless and atomised spraying operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

selecting and inspecting for faults in plant, tools and equipment

identifying, reporting and recording hazards, risks and environmental issues

removing dirt, debris and contaminants from the area

setting out the location for line marking with control points

spotting straight lines and curves, and removing pre-existing lines that are visible

completing the application of at least thirty square metres (30m2) of transverse lines within tolerances specified using airless or atomised spray equipment

measuring, calculating and quantifying amount of completed line marking

clearing work area and storing equipment appropriately

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge in conducting airless and atomised spraying operations through:

applying organisation and site requirements and procedures for:

work, health and safety

equipment operation

operational, maintenance and basic diagnostics

JSAs/safe work method statements
