Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

SISCAQU005 - Develop and implement aquatic facility maintenance procedures

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Plan maintenance procedures.

  1. Evaluate operational maintenance needs according to regulatory and business requirements.
  2. Document uses and condition of the aquatic facility plant and equipment and identify priorities for action.
  3. Identify potential sources of increased efficiency of the aquatic facility plant and equipment.
  4. Identify human, physical and financial resources associated with needed maintenance of aquatic facility.
  5. Integrate maintenance program with asset acquisition and disposal plans.
  6. Schedule maintenance activities to minimise disruption to facility users and ensure that supplies are available.
  7. Confirm, document and communicate maintenance procedures and costs according to organisational approval protocols.
