Unit Description

Assessment Tool
an assessor resource that builds a framework for writing an assessment tool
Assessment Template
generate a spreadsheet for marking this unit in a classroom environment. Put student names in the top row and check them off as they demonstrate competenece for each of the unit's elements and performance criteria.
Assessment Matrix
a slightly different format than the assessment template. A spreadsheet with unit names, elements and performance criteria in separate columns. Put assessment names in column headings to track which performance criteria each one covers. Good for ensuring that you've covered every one of the performance criteria with your assessment instrument (all assessement tools together).
Wiki Markup
mark up the unit in a wiki markup codes, ready to copy and paste into a wiki page. The output will work in most wikis but is designed to work particularly well as a Wikiversity learning project.

Observation Checklist

A form for students to assess thier current skill levels against each of the unit's performance criteria. Cut and paste into a web document or print and distribute in hard copy.
Moodle Outcomes

Elements and Performance Criteria

Elements describe the essential outcomes.

Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. Where bold italicised text is used, further information is detailed in the range of conditions.

1. Prepare for painting

1.1 Review work order and where required check with appropriate personnel.

1.2 Select appropriate personal protective and other equipment and check for operational effectiveness.

1.3 Obtain type and quantity of panels for painting from storage.

1.4 Select panel painting process, feed rates and paints and plan in line with work order.

2. Paint panels

2.1 Use equipment in line with organisational safety procedures, manufacturer’s instructions and environmental protection practices.

2.2 Load paint products in equipment and apply paint to panel, monitoring and adjusting flow rates and viscosity continually.

2.3 Check paint operations regularly and clear blockages and filters to maintain paint coverage.

2.4 Check panels regularly for surface quality and contamination, and grade according to work order requirements.

2.5 Remove defective panels from painting process and review for disposal or re-painting.

2.6 Dry and stack material safely in designated location.

3. Shut down and clean equipment

3.1 Coordinate shutdown procedures with other line operators in line with organisational safety procedures.

3.2 Turn off pumps and flush equipment in line with manufacturer’s instructions.

3.3 Dispose of excess paint and flushing liquid in line with environmental protection practices.

3.4 Store equipment and paint in line with organisational procedures.

3.5 Record and report production outcomes and equipment faults to appropriate personnel.
