Assessment Template
generate a spreadsheet for marking this unit in a classroom environment. Put student names in the top row and check them off as they demonstrate competenece for each of the unit's elements and performance criteria.
Assessment Matrix
a slightly different format than the assessment template. A spreadsheet with unit names, elements and performance criteria in separate columns. Put assessment names in column headings to track which performance criteria each one covers. Good for ensuring that you've covered every one of the performance criteria with your assessment instrument (all assessement tools together).

Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare for production of veneer.

1.1 Review work order and check with appropriate personnel.

1.2 Identify and follow safe work procedure for producing decorative veneers.

1.3 Identify hazards and control risk in the work area.

1.4 Acquire type and quantity of decorative veneer to be produced, from veneer production process.

1.5 Select equipment and conduct pre-start check in line with manufacturer's recommendations and site requirements.

1.6 Select veneer production process in line with site procedures.

1.7 Establish and maintain communication with relevant personnel as required, to ensure safety and production requirements are met.

2. Produce decorative veneer and dispose of sub-standard material

2.1 Visually inspect veneer for decorative qualities, layout design, defects and select for use.

2.2 Select joining points and cut veneer in line with layout design.

2.3 Prepare decorative veneers for joining and bonding to panel product.

2.4 Check completed veneers for conformity to work order and repair any imperfections.

2.5 Mark completed veneers for designated joining sequence in line with layout design.

2.6 Reject and dispose of sub-standard decorative veneers in line with site procedures and environmental requirements.

3. Regrade and redistribute veneer, clean up and maintain records.

3.1 Assess joins and regrade veneer in line with site requirements and industry standards.

3.2 Direct and move material to storage or processing operations in line with site requirements.

3.3 Reject and dispose of sub-standard material in line with site requirements.

3.4 Clean work area in line with safe work procedure and site requirements.

3.5 Record and report decorative veneer process and equipment faults to appropriate personnel.
