Unit Description
Reconstruct the unit from the xml and display it as an HTML page.
Assessment Tool
an assessor resource that builds a framework for writing an assessment tool
Assessment Template
generate a spreadsheet for marking this unit in a classroom environment. Put student names in the top row and check them off as they demonstrate competenece for each of the unit's elements and performance criteria.
Assessment Matrix
a slightly different format than the assessment template. A spreadsheet with unit names, elements and performance criteria in separate columns. Put assessment names in column headings to track which performance criteria each one covers. Good for ensuring that you've covered every one of the performance criteria with your assessment instrument (all assessement tools together).
Wiki Markup
mark up the unit in a wiki markup codes, ready to copy and paste into a wiki page. The output will work in most wikis but is designed to work particularly well as a Wikiversity learning project.

Observation Checklist

A form for students to assess thier current skill levels against each of the unit's performance criteria. Cut and paste into a web document or print and distribute in hard copy.
Moodle Outcomes

1 Determine tool requirements and select tools

1.1 Nature of work to be performed is determined including processes to be performed, materials to be used and working environment in which tools are to be used

1.2 Appropriate tools are selected for the work tasks to be performed

1.3 Workplace procedures and instructions are read and interpreted

2 Check tools and set for use

2.1 Tools are inspected for damage, missing components or other defects prior to use

2.2 Extension power cables and gas/air hoses for power tools are checked for knots and insulation damage and are adequately supported when used overhead

2.3 Tool bits, blades, etc. are installed in tool

2.4 Tool settings are determined and tool is adjusted or set for use

3 Prepare work area for tool use

3.1 Safe working environment for tool use is established, including elimination of solvents and other sources of flammable or explosive vapours and removal of flammable materials which might catch fire if tools likely to produce sparks or flame are used

3.2 Work with tools is planned to maximise safety and productivity

3.3 Suitable electrical power outlets, if required, are identified

3.4 Work area is cleared and cleaned to provide work table or benches free of obstructions and allow clear access to machines and equipment

3.5 Barriers or screens are used to keep other personnel at a safe distance or to shield them from sparks, arc flashes, debris, dust or noise

3.6 Suitable floor insulation or residual current devices are provided where electrical tools are to be used in conditions which could present a shock hazard

3.7 Provision for emergency shut down of tool is checked

4 Prepare work piece for tool use

4.1 Work piece is correctly mounted in, or aligned to the tool or machine to be used

4.2 Work piece is securely anchored where necessary to prevent movement

5 Use tools

5.1 Safety equipment is used in accordance with OHS practices and tools are used in accordance with industry and workplace OHS practices

5.2 Electrical tools are safely connected to power supply, gas or air hoses are safely connected to gas/air supplies

5.3 Start up and shut down procedures are safely followed when using electrical or gas operated tools

5.4 Mechanical tool settings, electrical settings and gas pressures are set

5.5 Tools are located in safe positions when not in use

5.6 Safety equipment is used during tool operation in accordance with OHS practices

5.7 Tool operation is monitored and use is discontinued if abnormal operation or other problems are detected

5.8 Knowledge of tools are applied to preform required tasks

6 Maintain and store tools and maintain work area

6.1 Tools, extension cables and hoses are cleaned and stored in accordance with industry and workplace OHS practices

6.2 Abnormal tool operation or other problems are reported in accordance with established workplace practices

6.3 Programmed maintenance of tools which is within the province of the operator is performed

6.4 Work area is cleaned
