Assessment Template
generate a spreadsheet for marking this unit in a classroom environment. Put student names in the top row and check them off as they demonstrate competenece for each of the unit's elements and performance criteria.

a slightly different format than the assessment template. A spreadsheet with unit names, elements and performance criteria in separate columns. Put assessment names in column headings to track which performance criteria each one covers. Good for ensuring that you've covered every one of the performance criteria with your assessment instrument (all assessement tools together).

1.2 Select appropriate type of plant and associated equipment, according to job requirement, to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of waste placement and compaction

1.3 Identify and obtain other tools and materials required to meet work requirements

1.4 Select and fit emergency and personal protective equipment in accordance with job requirements, manufacturers' specifications, company requirements and relevant legislation

1.5 Ensure operator has the appropriate licence in accordance with company requirements and relevant legislation

1.6 Assesslandfill cell to determine waste placement requirements and cell capacity

1.7 Identify and manage potential risks and hazards to job requirements in accordance with company requirements, OHS and other relevant legislation

1.8 Erect safety barriers and signage at work sites to ensure safety of surrounding personnel and public, in accordance with company requirements and relevant legislation

2 Perform routine checks on plant

2.1 Conduct a visual check of plant to pinpoint damage, leaks, obstruction, component wear or potential hazards

3 Start and operate plant

3.1 Start and operate plant in accordance with manufacturers' specifications and company requirements

4 Place and compact waste

4.1 Select waste type to be placed in accordance with stage of batter development, personnel and public safety, company requirements and relevant legislation

4.2 Place and compact waste safely and efficiently in designated area using appropriate placement and compaction methods

4.3 Use correct moving and compaction techniques to aid the formation of waste battering angle and tight compaction of waste

4.4 Maintain visual checks to identify potential hazards during placement and compaction

4.5 Use moving and compaction techniques to minimise the excessive creation of dust or contamination to surrounding environment

4.6 Place smaller waste on top of larger waste objects on the batter to ensure even placement and no large waste objects protruding from the batter

4.7 Traverse placed waste to ensure a smooth, tight, compacted surface

5 Shut down and secure plant

5.1 Complete shut-down procedures in accordance with manufacturers' specifications and company requirements

5.2 Park or store plant in a safe location to avoid damage to plant, obstruction of surrounding site activity or unauthorised use

5.3 Carry out housekeeping to ensure cleanliness of plant and associated equipment

5.4 Conduct service checks to ensure water, oil, fuel, air pressure and greasing are maintained at appropriate levels in accordance with manufacturers' specifications

5.5 Report any plant or equipment faults or defects to relevant personnel

6 Document work activities

6.1 Document placement and compaction activities accurately and promptly and in accordance with company requirements and relevant legislation
