1. Plan and prepare to Monitor, inspect and service ropes and attachments

1.1 Access, interpret and apply service and maintenance documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant

1.2 Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements

1.3 Identify, address and report potential hazards, risks and environmental issues and implement control measures

1.4 Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work activities

1.5 Perform equipment and work area pre-start checks, and ensure equipment is ready for inspection and/or servicing

1.6 Check records for outstanding inspections and/or maintenance and take appropriate action

1.7 Identify the scope of the inspection, correct ropes and attachments, inspection and servicing tools, equipment and consumables according to the service schedule

1.8 Obtain and interpret emergency procedures and be ready for fire/accident/emergency

1.9 Coordinate and liaise with appropriate persons concerning the work

1.10 Establish that start-up procedures have been completed by the winder driver, and the area is clear for the work

1.11 Establish emergency contingency plans with winder driver

1.12 Ensure work area is properly ventilated before entry

2. Conduct inspection and service

2.1 Perform necessary isolation and tagging

2.2 Carry out servicing and inspections of ropes

2.3 Inspect, classify and report anomalies and defects

2.4 Complete service actions and record any follow-up action

2.5 Ensure all physical guards and safety signs are in place and tags removed, and approval obtained before winder operations are resumed

3. Conduct post-service/inspection activities

3.1 Complete all required documentation

3.2 Return all tools and equipment to storage
