Assessment Template
generate a spreadsheet for marking this unit in a classroom environment. Put student names in the top row and check them off as they demonstrate competenece for each of the unit's elements and performance criteria.
Assessment Matrix
a slightly different format than the assessment template. A spreadsheet with unit names, elements and performance criteria in separate columns. Put assessment names in column headings to track which performance criteria each one covers. Good for ensuring that you've covered every one of the performance criteria with your assessment instrument (all assessement tools together).

Identify and prepare mortuary area and appropriate instruments and equipment according to workplace policies and procedures, relevant legislation and infection control practices.

Prepare and use personal protective equipment according to workplace policies and procedures, and relevant legislation.

Identify and respect social, cultural and religious requirements.

Disinfect and close eyes.

2.1

Cleanse, disinfect, dry and relieve inner and outer canthus of eyes of rigor mortis using swabs.

2.2

Collect and dispose of soiled cotton in biowaste container.

2.3

Apply massage cream to eye caps or cotton and place onto eyeball.

2.4

Close upper eyelid 2/3 down and lower eyelid 1/3 up and apply suturing techniques as required.

Check correct balance with an aneurysm needle across the bridge of nose.

Disinfect and close mouth.

3.1

Remove any dental prostheses and clean with a brush and disinfectant soap.

3.2

Thoroughly disinfect complete oral cavity, including teeth, gums and tongue and cleanse with cotton soaked in appropriate disinfectant.

Dry oral cavity and pack posterior region with cotton.

3.4

Select and apply appropriate mouth closure method.

3.5

Use mouth former or cotton to replace missing teeth as required.

3.6

Pad buccal cavities with cotton or other appropriate material to fill out natural contours.

Model mouth and lips into a pleasing, natural position.

Clean up tools, equipment and mortuary area.

4.1

Clean, disinfect or sterilise instruments and equipment according to workplace policies and procedures, and relevant legislation.

Dispose of waste materials according to workplace policies and procedures, and relevant legislation.

4.3

Store instruments and equipment according to workplace policies and procedures and report faults.

4.4

Clean and disinfect mortuary area according to workplace policies and procedures, and relevant legislation.
