Appropriate tests are arranged to be carried out on the atmosphere in the confined space by designated personnel using necessary testing equipment and procedures

Space is ventilated as per regulatory requirements and Australian Standard AS2865

Hazards and risks associated with the confined space are identified and suitable risk-management strategies are established

Suitable personal protective equipment is obtained and prepared for use

Checks are made to ensure that the entry point and work area within the confined space are suitably illuminated to required standards
