List the assessment methods to be used and the context and resources required for assessment. Copy and paste the relevant sections from the evidence guide below and then re-write these in plain English.
Elements describe the essential outcomes. | Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. Where bold italicised text is used, further information is detailed in the range of conditions. |
1. Prepare for production. | 1.1 Review and check work order with appropriate personnel. 1.2 Identify hazards and control risk in the work area according to work health and safety (WHS) requirements. 1.3 Retrieve from stock, type and quantity of blanks for shoes and wheels to be produced. 1.4 Conduct pre-start checks on equipment in line with manufacturer's recommendations and site requirements. 1.5 Plan production process in line with site procedures. 1.6 Communicate plan with others as required, to ensure safety and production requirements are met, in line with site procedures. |
2. Produce shoes and wheels. | 2.1 Produce template from tin or other metal plate to match profile. 2.2 Position shoe or wheel in machine and shape in line with template, stopping regularly to check shaping with template. 2.3 Label wheels or shoes to follow profile. 2.4 Install wheels or shoes into profile sander in preparation for profile sanding operations. 2.5 Reject and dispose of templates with defects in line with site procedures and environmental requirements. 2.6 Record and report production process and equipment faults to appropriate personnel. |
3. Conduct operator maintenance. | 3.1 Follow equipment lock-out procedures in line with site procedures. 3.2 Check and maintain condition of shoe or wheel shaping equipment. 3.3 Check shaper cutters for blunt or damaged condition and sharpen as required. 3.4 Clean tool room and clear of waste in line with site procedures. |
