- Diagnose faults
- Faults are located, causes identified, and repair strategy is developed that addresses fault-rectification requirements
- Information from maintenance records, test results and fault diagnosis guides is used to assist in fault identification
- Specialist advice is obtained, where required, to confirm rectification strategy
- Repair faults
- Faulty plant, tool, equipment or system is dismantled according to the repair strategy
- Component parts are assessed and repair strategy is developed according to workplace procedures
- Component parts are repaired, modified or replaced
- Parts requiring specialist repair are tagged and repair instructions documented according to workplace procedures
- Repaired plant, tools and equipment are re-assembled
- Re-install plant, tools, equipment and systems
- Calibrate and adjust plant, equipment and systems
