1.1 Reported defects of plant, tool, equipment or system are investigated and faults identified

1.2 Repair instructions and plans are interpreted to identify required processes and materials

1.3 Plant, tool, equipment or system is inspected and operated to confirm nature of reported fault

1.4 Repair plan is developed with production and maintenance personnel

2. Remove faulty plant, tools, equipment and systems

2.1 Identified faulty plant, tool, equipment or system is removed according to the repair plan and in line with workplace procedures

2.2 Where required, faulty plant, tool, equipment or system is temporarily replaced

3. Diagnose faults

3.1 Faults are located, causes identified, and repair strategy is developed that addresses fault-rectification requirements

3.2 Information from maintenance records, test results and fault diagnosis guides is used to assist in fault identification

3.3 Specialist advice is obtained, where required, to confirm rectification strategy

4. Repair faults

5.1 Re-installation plan for plant, tool, equipment or system is confirmed with relevant personnel

5.2 New or repaired plant, tool, equipment or system is re-installed and checked for compliance and correct operation

6. Calibrate and adjust plant, equipment and systems

6.1 New or repaired plant, tool, equipment or system is calibrated, adjusted and tested

6.2 Details of the repair, re-commissioning, testing and serviceability are documented according to workplace procedures
